Aerohive Networks was founded in 2006 and provides wireless network access for medium to large businesses. They They developed a control-less wireless LAN architecture called Cooperative Control which provides a variety of features including management, mobility and security. This feature is appealing to all types of businesses big and small, as it is cost effective, secure and high performance. They appeal to many industries but a focus is on healthcare, education, government and retail. They have expanded onto Cloud network services (2011) as well as offering many applications such as Student Manager and TeacherView. They are based out of Sunnyvale California in the United States of America, although they provide service on a global level. "Aerohive most recently received $22.5 million in Mezzanine Equity financing, led by Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), a later-stage venture capital and growth equity firm. Existing investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), Lightspeed Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Northern Light andFour Rivers also participated in the round." In March they went public on the New York Stock Exchange.
Changming Liu is one of Aerohives co founders and has served as our Chief Technology Officer since January 2007 and as a member of the Board since March 2006. He previously served as our Chief Executive Officer from March 2006 to February 2007. Mr. Liu is the author of more than ten networking patents. Mr. Liu holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Tsinghua University in Beijing and an M.S. in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Queen's University, Ontario Canada.
